Baby Kendall

I am sorry I haven't been such a good blogger the last few months. I seem to be going on swings where I do well- then don't do well again. Please feel free to give me posts that kick me back into gear. Two weeks is all too long to update our family blog.

As a follow-up post from our friends Shawn and Lindsey's little bundle of joy... Kendall is the sweetest little baby. I was able to spend the weekend with them in Melbourne, FL photographing her adorable little face. She was so cooperative and let us put all kinds of props on her. It was so much fun! Here is one that I took and the rest are yet to come. (You'll have to check the Beth Daane Photography blog for the rest.) I have missed Shawn and Lindsey so much, it was so nice to spend some time together and especially with Kendall to add to the family.

Congratulations Dear Friends!

My dear, dear friends Lindsey and Shawn welcomed their precious baby girl into the world yesterday! Congratulations and I love you all!

Tiny little Kendall Elizabeth is a whole month early, but despite being anxious to join the world, she is doing wonderfully! Kendall, Mommy and Daddy are great and will be at the hospital until tomorrow.

Lindsey sent me a few pictures, and I couldn't help but do a little special touches to them. I can't wait to meet sweet and perfect Kendall! Enjoy the photographs of the beautiful family!

Class: A new day and age...

I am taking a class on social networking. It's pretty interesting and I am realizing I actually know a little more then I thought I did! Now, that being said- there is SO MUCH that I don't know, but I have a great teacher and am picking up little nuggets here and there. It's a pretty neat thing.

Our society and businesses in our society are changing so much. It's a new day and age and one of technology and relationship building... at least it is in my book. I wouldn't be in business if it were just a job. It is about building relationships and friendships and connections that are going to last a lifetime.

For a long time I thought that social networking was a bit "out there" and unsure of where it might fit into my overall life and business. What I am finding is that it is strengthening my relationships with friends, family and those I work with all at the same time. I definitely feel that it can be a crutch and misused, but when it's used the right way it brings a stronger bond. Keep this in mind... don't forget about the human touch!

All I can say is that I adore my little niece- isn't she gorgeous?!

The Day of the Tick

Near our home there is a great park that I do a lot of family portraits at. Recently there were hundreds of goats and sheep that spent a few weeks roaming the land and grazing on the weeds. The farmer would take them from one area, then move them to another. I thought it would be a great place to bring the kiddo's to and after speaking with the farmer who gave me permission to go inside the gate- we headed out! We had a great time- Rita was up visiting that day, so she came with us. Despite the good time, I have to admit I was a little afraid when all the goats and sheep started running toward us at one point. Many hours later I found the most disgusting thing ever----a TICK had crawled up my pant leg and was beginning to feast on my blood. My precious untainted blood... I did everything I shouldn't have- I screamed, ggrabbed it, pulled it off my leg and threw it. I know- what an idiot! Luckily it had JUST started embedding itself, so I got it all out and also lucky for me I have a husband who found it after I threw it. Three words--- YUCK YUCK YUCK! Here was the best part of the day...

A dear friend (and fellow lover of photography) asked me to do a maternity session. Their sweet baby girl is on her way soon! I just had to post an image from their session because I love her to pieces. There is also some other exciting stuff that they have asked me to do, but I won't talk about it yet until after the time has come I don't jynx anything! Yes- I'm a tiny superstitious about that stuff- but just a little!

Baby Tessa

Since so many of our family look on this blog and not my work blog, I thought I would post this here too. It's of a lil baby Tessa that we know and love! Thanks Andy and Kenzie for allowing me to create these beautiful portraits. (The video is f-a-s-t but it's the first time I have made one and am still learning how to use it- bear with me!)
