The Weekend with Trixie and Larry

So, Sam's parents have come out to visit and we decided to take a little road trip. See, last year for Christmas we gave them the gift of a paying for a weekend to meet with us half-way. They never took us up on it, but when they came to see us they wanted to go to Colorado. The first night we went to Colorado Springs, toured the Garden of the Gods and took the Cog Railway up to Pike's Peak. That was really cool. I would highly suggest that little trip. Then the next night Sam had rented a cabin for us about 20 miles South of LEadville and we stayed right on a small stream. It was so beautiful. Then we headed back to Cheyenne yesterday, but not before passing through Aspen, Vail and lots of sketchy weather- snow storms!!! Luckily once we hit Denver everything pretty much cleared up and it was a safe drive home. A good time was had by all.

My Work

I am a proud peacock puffing my feathers... I reached a milestone in my program yesterday. For those who don't know- in a very short explanation- I get prescription drugs for patients who don't have insurance or who can't afford their meds from pharmaceutical companies. So, I also compile statistics of what we help the community and our patients with so we can see what we are doing- "measuring the program's success". Yesterday I checked some stats and saw that my program has now saved my patients over $1 million dollars since Jan 1, 2005! How amazing is that! In all reality, these people would have never bought their meds- they couldn't afford to- but knowing how much the program is helping them is the reason- one of many- why I am able to get up in the morning and feel proud to be who I am. Today Chris and Sam wen't flying. Chris has his private flying license and is about to move away- so he and Sam took a last chance trip over the Front Range. They had a great time. They were able to fly over our friends Shawn and Lindsey's house in Colorado! They couldn't go over ours since we live so close to the airport- oh well, maybe another time! Thanks Chris! Good luck to you and Liz in your new endeavors...

Wine Club

Well, I have a little Wine Club that meets once a month and needless to say, we had a great time! I didn't get an RSVP so I didn't know how many people were coming. It turned out to be Keelee and Lou, Julie (who hates wine--what a trooper!!), Hudson (who OBVIOUSLY doesn't drink wine!), Sam, myself and the two pup's Maddy and Mykah. We drank a lot of really great wine and had great conversation. Thanks for comin' kids, let's do it again soon!

California Trip

Ok catch-up time has arrived! My computer is up and running and all my photo's were saved. The time is here!!

So I went out to Cali to visit Ma and Pa. It was an awesome time. Sad that David couldn't come, but it is a long trip and the guy is in school, so it just didn't happen this time. Maybe next... Did get to visit with Rita and Jeff and Rankin. It was great to see them. I haven't seen Rankin in two years or so, so that was awesome!

While I was there I met my parents friend and neighbor Pamela- she is such a neat lady! (That is Pamela with Mom.)

Dad and I spent alot of time together, he took off work, but Mom had to work and had school. We checked out new restaurants and I faux painted their bathroom- Mom wanted it done in a light shade of purple. I think she liked it! The photo of Dad and I is from the night he cooked tasty cajun shrimp for us!!

I had a great time, it was laid back and relaxing. It was perfect to be able to spend time with Mom and Dad. It makes me realize how much I miiss them and how happy I am when I can spend time together- even if it is just a week.

Portroid on the WAY!!

Hey Y'all!! Guess what?!! My friend Rick (the Portroid artist), previously known as "Porty", lives in Ft. Collins! Wow! Little did either of us know when I started all this correspondance about being his fan that we are so close in proximity! So, Rick also just offered that I could be the first "fan portroid"! How cool is this? Man, it's a small world! (Little did Rick know that Ft. Collins is my second home- was there yesterday, will be there this weekend....etc.......)

Bitter Beth No More

I NEEDED TO STOP EVERYTHING I WAS DOING TO WRITE THIS!!!

Ok, so I have been kind of boycotting my blog for a while because my computer crashed- yes crashed. Great thing that I bought an extended super-dooper-gold package warranty because they were able to help me retreive all my stuff off of it. I only spent about 15 HOURS doing it and Sam about 5!! What a mess, BUT I am up and running with ALL MY PICS!!!

The reason I needed to post a new little post is for one reason alone. During this boycott I have had recently I received an e-mail from my friend "Porty" because I had e-mailed him about some things I really liked about his site. He e-mailed me back right away and told me his name is Rick! So "Porty" is bye bye, Rick is hello!! The other WAY COOL thing is that Rick just saw my blog and the portroid that I put on here is of his MOM!!! WOW! In his e-mail I told him I only aspire to be one of his portroids- turns out he lives about 40 minutes away! How crazy small is this world anyways? So Rick- hello and glad to make the correction with your name since I now know it!
