This is a story of our family life in the House of Daane. Mommy, Daddy, Girl, Boy and two neurotic puppies. A typical American family growing, changing and evolving as we make our way across the country one step at a time.

Babymoon
What is a Babymoon?
Well, as described by the Today Show it is a parent's "Last Hoorrah" before baby arrives. They meant it in a good way. They also stated that it is special for parents to take a Babymoon because it allows them to focus on themselves prior to baby's arrival, which will make it more likely that they will focus on themselves as a couple after the baby has arrived. We liked the idea, but truthfully, decided to take this trip (in conjunction to a work conference) before we even knew about the terminology "Babymoon". We had planned this trip with the definition in mind before we even knew what it was!
We are on our Babymoon now- didn't have much access to technology until now- and just wanted to post an update that we are on our Babymoon having a great time! I won't post anymore until I am home. That will be this weekend sometime. This time away has been spectacular- I have actually had my hubby all to myself! Our cell's don't work because we don't have service in the Yellowstone area and we love it! This translates to no calls from Sammy's work telling him he has to come in tomorrow on his leave! (This happened more times then we could count when we were in Wisco...)
Anyhow, toodles until later in the week or next week!
Much love,
Sammy, Beth and Clety (Clety = purpose for Babymoon!)

More WI Trip!
Sam and I at Andy and McKenzie's wedding.
McKenzie and Andy
Sam and Grandma (I don't know why the photo is so small?!?!)
Greg and Kim
The Fisher Family

Well, I haven't really caught up from my last WI trip I took. Sam and I went out there for his cousin Andy's wedding to McKenzie. It was such a beautiful wedding and it was so much fun! We were quite happy to be party of their events! (Shamefully I do have to add that there are still a few more things that I have to include about our trip. I will definately do that this week before our "Babymoon" this upcoming week!)

Remembering...
How could we ever forget? I look back 5 years ago and remember where I was and how I didn't understand what someone meant when they said "a plane flew into to one of the twin towers" until a couple hours later when I was able to go home to see the news. I remember crying in Sam's arms wondering what was going on? I remember calling my Mom and Dad, brother too, and being so selfishly happy that they were no where near the horrific events going on in the world. I remember rushing off to my "kids" at their school to see if they were okay and being so happy and so sad at the dame time that they didn't understand what was going on. They were only 12... should their innocent minds even be able to comprehend the monstrosity going on? Should any of us? I do know one thing for sure. I know that I am so proud of who I am and what I feel for our country. I am so proud of my Father for serving nearly 30 years of his life to our country. I am so proud of my Husband for keeping his head high in tough times knowing that when push comes to shove, the daily trials he faces are because he loves our country and would do anything- anything- to protect her.
I receive daily quotes about inspiration- I know this one wasn't by chance...
"Things don't go wrong and break your heart so you can becomebitter and give up. They happen to break you down and build you up so you can be all that you were intended to be."

It's a Blast!
I speak of teeth today, because as of 0800 today I am one shorter then I was at 0700 today. I now have 21 teeth in my mouth. If you recall from this earlier post, (check out the interesting photo's! oooohhhh.....) it was no suprize that I would need major dental work done. What did end up being a suprize is that it was going to be this quick and while I am preggo! I have had increasing trouble (that you are lucky I don't feel like sharing the details about!) and the Doc said it needed to come out now!!! I didn't talk about it because this trip today (and any trip to the Dentist or Dental Surgeon) is one of the most anxiety provocing things that can happen to me. Not a whole lot phases me- but I become a different person with my dentists and malleofacial surgeons!
I am not in tons of pain, but I am still thinking the local anesthesia needs to wear off yet- maybe not and maybe this is as bad as it will be- that would be great! I have gauze in my mouth and boy does that stink! (You all know I have texture issues!) Lastly, of this ongoing whining I am doing, the tooth itself was GROSS! Glad that nasty sucker is outta my mouth! So- here's to lot's of jello, pudding, cottage cheese, and yogurt! Hurray!

Flip-Flop Exchange

Yeah! I am so excited because today when I came home from some meetings on my way to clinic, I had a package from J. Crew at my door-step. I thought for sure I had ordered something for Baby Cletie that I didn't remember- I had some cute little outfits in my "cart" that I didn't think I ordered that I thought I accidentally ordered.
Well, I opened up the package to find that I received my first pair of flip flops from the flip flop exchange that Lindsey roped me into! It is so exciting and I just LOVE my flip flops! THANK-YOU Cathie in CT. What a great surprise.
I tore them open and tried to put them on---unfortunately even though I said I wanted size 8's (and I really wear 6-7) the 8's are still too small for my fat, fat sausage feet. I will just have to hold-off wearing them until next summer. Something to look forward to! Yipee!

Baby Registering! Oh-My!

Thank-you so much Kim and Tammi for all your help last night. Kim, Tammi and I went out to dinner then went to Target to help Sam and I register for the stuff we not only “wanted” but things the already Mommy’s knew I would need. We had a lot of fun and had a much needed (LATE!) girls night! Thanks again gal’s!
