Mom's Visit!

Mom visited last weekend and it was awesome to have her out. (Missed you Dad, but see you soon!) She came out to help me get Clety's room in order and for the shower my girl's threw for me. Previous to her trip out, there wasn't anything in the room. Now- the room is FILLED! There are still many things we need, but she helped so much in hanging the clothes, making the bed, positioning the items in the room, etc... We don't know what we would have done without your help! Thanks Mom!
Love,
Sam, Beth and Clety

Work Shower!

The ladies at work decided to have a little lunch "shower" for me! It was so sweet of them... They had a really nice lunch, and played a silly game to measure how big my belly is- of course everyone thought I was WAY bigger then I am! ;) Misty and Linda, my two office mates, were the ones who threw it for me. Very, very sweet of them!

The yummiest cake I think I have ever had.

I had such a great weekend last weekend! My Mom came into town on Thursday night and on Sunday my Chey-town girls threw a baby shower for our "Sweet Pea"! My Mom and I wore little ribbon's that said "Mom to be" and Grandmother to be". That was really cute! The cake was absolutely AMAZING and the food was fantastic too! It was at a Bed and Breakfast in Fort Collins- Lindsey, Tammi and Kim were the wonderful hostesses. I thank-you all so much for everything! It was so wonderful and means the world to me! Thank-you everyone who came, it was such a blast!

Saddest Photographic Event Ever

I am so sad, and that doesn't even begin to explain how I really feel. I discovered today that all of Sam and I's Yellowstone Babymoon photo's are gone. I don't know what happened, but they are just gone. I have a few of them, which is very strange, but I only have the few on the way there and the few on the way home. I feel awful and I have scared the dogs because of crying so hard- they just don't know what to do with me. They come and check on me and lick my face then leave again. Sam is on alert, so he doesn't even know yet. I just feel awful. I know the memories are in our heart, but this was our Babymoon! I am so sorry, Clety, that you won't ever see those photo's that we took to honor your coming. I am so sorry Sam that they are gone. We were going to take two of the photo's from Yellowstone and make them into canvas' for the living room so that we always remembered the wonderful trip. I will never recapture the photo's of when I sat on the hill with the other "real" photographers and took shot's of the Elk. My life's dream...not the Elk, but being with the other "real" photographers with multi- multi thousand dollars of equiptment. Enough of this, no need to comment about this post, I just need to get over it. Whaaaaaaa........ (really.) 600+ photographs just gone. Poof. Vanished. With testing out all my new equipment seeing sights that I will never see the same way again.

This is the only photograph of us.

The Bathroom

See what Sammy-Sam has been up to now? He tore-up our upstairs bathroom, you can see the ugly brown that was totally outdated from the 50's. He even discovered some atrocious (sp?) wallpaper behind the backsplash! Ha! Well, he put tile in over the countertop and it looks AWESOME! He is going to start ripping up the floor and will put tile on the floor too. He thinks he will be done with that by this Thursday. He is way too ambitious! The other photo is of Sam putting together Clety's crib. He did a great job of that, too! The dresser/ changing table arrived a couple days ago- the poor man will need to put that together also! I wish I could do it- it sure would help "Daddy" out! Hee Hee!

WI Trip- More Pic's

I posted a few wedding photo's quite some time ago, and I thought I would post a few more because this wraps up our trip! I also included some others from random things we did.
This it the Fisher siblings and mother at the wedding. Top row: Marcia, Rita, Trix and Kathy. Bottom row: Pam, Steve and Grandma Jeanette Grandma Jeanette and Garett
The couple of the evening! Andy and McKenzie
The Fisher family that was at the wedding.
A cute pic of Krista and Rita
I just LOVE this picture of my nephew Tom. He wanted to sit at the stool at the traditional Friday breakfast and he picked up the paper and was reading the business section. He is 10! We were able to catch a game that Tom and Ryan were in. They were in the play-off's!There is a big Amish influence in the area of WI that Sam's family lives in. We went Amish shopping one day and Sam and I splurged on something totally frivilous for Clety that she doesn't need, but we just couldn't resist! We let dear niece Michelle test it out! (Although hard to see in the photo- it is a wodden rocking horse.)We stopped one day to visit my brother-in-law Greg at his work- QUAD Graphics. It was so cool- because he showed us the factory and how they put together the InStyle magazine! It was so cool to see the behind the scene's action! I took a photo of some of the different steps it takes to get to the final product- not really a great pic, but it was cool!

Sam was totally impressed with the corn- can you believe how tall it is?! I was hiding in it and you couldn't even see me!

WI Trip- Friends

Our trip to WI also involved a little bit of time to catch up with old friends. We didn't get to see so many people we had intended to, but we did get to see some and it was awesome!

We had a night out with Sam's group from high school minus a couple of them. Dawn, Sam, Charlie, Jim and Terry were all buddies and have way too much dirt on one another to NOT be friends! Hee Hee! Charlie and Jim and their significant others weren't able to make it, and we missed them! Hopefully next time!
Doug (Dawn's hubbie), Terry and SamDawn, Stef (Terry's wife) and Moi! Sierra! (Terry and Stef's little darling!)

We were able to catch lunch with my dear friend Jenny and her husband Al. Jenny and I were college roomates and sorority sisters. Once again- we were only able to spend an hour or so with them, but it was so awesome! We had a GREAT lunch and desert's and fantastic converstaion! Then we delivered them back to work! Hopefully next time we will have a bit more time to spend with them!

Poll- Help Please!!!!

Ok all you Mom's out there! I need your help! Sam and I decided on a chair for Clety's room- it is going to be in a color called "Latte" and it has an oval geometric design in a microsuade. Here is the dilema...we don't know if we should get a smaller recliner or a swivel glider/ rocker. The chair you see in brown is the recliner and it is actually the exact color and pattern that we would get and the pink one is the glider/ rocker. (But remember- it would be in the same color of brown.) Here are our thoughts and why we would like some help.
1. Cost: same
2. Delivery: same
3. Size- recliner is a little bigger (not good)
4. Ottoman- we like the idea of having a seperate one
5. We like the idea of the chair being comfy enough so that we can fall asleep in it.
5. Recliner is appealing becuause you can push it back and "lay" in it. (Although this is also part of the size problem.)
5. We like the design of the glider/ rocker but if we decide to go with the recliner- it is a smaller size recliner and we like that design too.
So- anyone who has had babies- what did you like or see as a good trait? We will be ordering on Monday night- it takes 4-5 weeks to come in- that means we might not even have it in time for dear Clety!
Help!

WI Trip- Green Bay!!!

We had the best time while we were in Green Bay! This is going to be a long post with lots of photo's so get ready! We were only there for a few short hours, but it was such an amazing and interesting day!

We started out meeting up with one of my best friends in the whole world- Kristin and her family. Kristin and I have been through more then I think I have been through with any other friend, previous to Samuel. Kristin married our friend Jim, whom we went to high school with, although they were not high school sweethearts. That whole thing developed later! So KGB (Kristin), Jim and I have known each other for many, many years. They have two beautiful children Brady and Aubrey and guess what- "Tripp" is on his or her way! (You ladies who are told you won't get pg while breastbeeding, I don't think KGB minds that I tell you it isn't true!) They are super excited about their third little one, and everyone is doing great!
So, going to Green Bay wouldn't be the same if we didn't see the Pack. Every year when I was younger I went to one or several games and I miss that so much! We saw Bretty-Bret practice for a while, then he stood the sidelines. Couldn't have him hurting himself you know! It definately wasn't the same as being in Lambeau for a game day, but it works! Boy does that bring back memories. I sometimes wonder if I have actually lived the life of the memories I have. Anyone else ever feel that way? Things are so surreal sometimes!

This was Sam and I's first apartment! We just loved it. Our entrance is the one all the way on the right, and we immediately walked upstairs and the balcony you see at the top was ours. It was quite spacious and we filled it well! ;)The two photo's below are the house in Green Bay that my Dad "retired" in. I say "retired" because although he retired from the Navy, he still hasn't retired yet! You're too young to retire anyway's Pop's! For those of you who knew my house, you can see that in some way's it has changed a lot, and in others it is the same old wonderful sanctuary I knew in High School! (Why on earth, might I ask, did they put a red wagon in the middle of all that land?! I would have been mad because I mowed the lawn most of the time and I would have had to move it! Yea, I didn't mow because I was a sweet daughter, I did it because I would sit on the riding lawn mower for two-three hours in my bikini getting a tan that I am now paying for!)
During our Green Bay Day we met up with my girl Crissy. We were partners in crime on many occasions- toured around France and England together (with KGB) and caused all kinds of ruckus! ;) (Not really, it just sounds like fun...) We had an appetizer at a little coffee shop that we used to frequent back in the day. It was awesome to touch base, even if it was only an hour!

You would never beleive this, but after we went past my parent's old house, we went to the country club that Sam worked at for a while. As we were walking around touring the new pool area they built we heard someone yell, "Beth??!! Sam??!!" It was our dear friend BethAnn! She and her childern were there with some friends- their daughter Brigit was a flower girl in our wedding. Well, she looked at her table of ladies and said, these are the Daane's that we were just talking about!" and the ladies all said- "Ohhh- the Daane's with the Dane!" It was so funny! Stupid me, I didn't get a photo of them because I was so dumbfounded. Sorry Mom- I know you would have loved to see Derek and Brigit- they have grown so much!! BethAnn proceeded to tell us that we just missed our friend Kim, so I hopped on the phone and called her up! She and three of their girls were home, so we swung over to their house. Kim was a big part of my Mom's decision to start her home day care so many years ago. Kim and Tom decided that if my Mom started a home daycare (she was teaching their girls at a big daycare) they would pull their girls out and take them to my Mom. Another family did the same thing, so my Mom did it! Now the twins, Andrea and Heather, have graduated from high school and are starting at UW-Oshkosh! Wow! Time goes by so fast! In the photo below you will see Kim and the girls. Starting from top- Megan, Kim, Shelby (who was also a flowergirl in our wedding) and Andrea. Heather and Tom weren't home. It was so awesome to sit and chat with them all!
We had dinner with our dear, dear friends Mike and Aimee and their little boy Elijah. Elijah was a wee bit sick, so we were sad for that, but boy is he a cute little man! Mike and I have been friends for so many years- well, since we were in high school. He went to a differenc high school, and was a year older, but we became very close friends and still are even though we don't talk nearly as much as I would like. Seeing the old house reminds me so much of the times Mike and Rankin (not is GB anymore- in San Fran see "May 2006" CA post of when I saw him) would hang out at my house and do dumb crazy things with Kristin and Crissy or just Mike, Ryan and I. My Mom always had the makings for rootbeer floats on hand and they would often stay at my house past my bed time and make themselves rootbeer floats and just hang out. Yes- I have never had a problem leaving my guests hang by themselves at my house if it were my bedtime- I truly feel that with some of my friends, what's mine is yours and you make yourself at home in mine--- and they did! Mike also went with me to my Senior Ball and the last formal I had with my sorority in college. He was my "date" when Sam couldn't be there! Mike was also in our wedding! We have been through so much! I wish we could see each other more often...

Wow- did you make it through this post?! You bloggin' girls should have never told me you could put more then 5 photo's on a post- now look at the shenanegan's I am up to! Hee Hee!

WI Trip - Daane Cousins

Yes- I am still updating from our WI trip in August. I will be done with those updates this weekend- I guarantee! There was a nice when we were all able to get together with the Daane side of the family, and although I don't have photo's of the Aunts and Uncles, they were there along with some of the cousins and their kiddo's!
