Whose That Girl?

So, I went to a really cool community planning meeting yesterday and one of our fantastic local news channels was there to do a story. Well, my dear friend and work partner from the Cheyenne Community Clinic, Rhonda, and I stayed after because we needed to plan a meeting that we are having next week. (That's me (duh) and Rhonda last year at her birthday in the photo.) While we were planning, the news guy asked if he could video our hands as I wrote notes for Rhonda and I's meeting. Of course we said sure... So, since it was such a stupid thing to be on TV for --my hands-- I insisted that obviously Sam and I would watch the news to look for my hands. We watched, and they didn't show my hands, but I did see a shot of Rhonda talking with one of the presenters and there was this other woman kind of blocking her. I could not figure out, for the life of me, who that brown haired lady was because you could only see her from the back! I kept watching because they showed this exciting shot for quite a while. I realized- she was wearing the same color sweater as I had on and--OH MY- that brown haired lady was me! Ha! Ha! Ha! Way too funny! I keep saying, you can take the blonde out of the hair, but the roots are still the same! (Notice how light the hair is in the photo- what a straggley bad photo of me- but at least Rhonda looks cute!)

Painting Galore

Well, my dear friends Bryan and Julie needed to paint a room they just finished, and why they waited until the night before the house would be shown is beyond me?!! (Are those fightin' words? Hee Hee)

Actually, they have been busting their tales getting the house pulled together remodeling- painting- etc... and it looks FANTASTIC! I know they are going to get what they want for the house- in fact, my prediction is that two or more people will want the house and there will be a bidding war, pulling the price higher and higher! YES! (And if that happens, can I get a cut of the extra's? Ha!)

Lou, Sam, Bryan, Julie and I primed, then painted. The room is just about "done" and looks awesome! I am glad we were all able to help together because it went pretty quick- although Lou would think not quick enough when he was stuck in the small places- mulitple times- and got light headed! Poor Lou!

Julie looked cute as usual painting away with a nice golden tan- or burn- whatever... something I only WISH I would have!! And the boys- well, the boys decided they would all go in the bathroom together to paint. Yes, all together. It was quite a sight. (Please take note, Sam and Lou are matching! How darn cute is that, anyway?!)

Recall! Recall! Recall!

Quick! Emergency! Ok,so it wasn't at 0500, but it was just before 0600, and I freaked out looking for the phone. Since I was still in a sleeping stupor, I had forgotten, and so had Sam, that we put it on his side of the bed exactly for this reason of recall insanity. In the midst of the chaos, I knocked over my water decanter and broke the glass all over. N--i--c--e!!!!

Happy Anniversary! Happy Anniversary!

Well, Sam and I have completed year #5 of Marriage! Yipee! It just keeps getting better and better and I so look forward to our next 50 years together. We spent our evening at the WSC Basket Auction. It is an auction to raise money for scholarships. We bid on (and won) a dessert that Sam wanted and a basket I wanted for a gift. We had fun. It was great to have our friends there. In the upcoming future our little group will begin to get smaller. Sad- so I will just pretend it isn't happening quite yet! (Denial is a wonderful thing, isn't it?)

Sam had the Col. bring flowers out for me. He suprised me with the flowers, and also got me a Spa Package at a Boulder Spa. I decided that we would go have a Spa Day together sometime probably in Late Spring or Early Summer. With how busy life will be until Summer, it probably will be around that time! Yeah!

Tim and Tammi. I was so happy they could come! I made them kiss forever because my camera stalled on me- aren't they adorable!!

Brain and Samantha. They looked great! (As usual!)

Bryan and Julie. Always looking like a perfect pair! The girls- minus a few... We had so much fun together! We all matched too! Tammi had a beautiful outfit on, Samantha was so very stylish and Julie had everything to a T! I tell you- I need to take lessons from these girls!

What to do at 3AM

I have a few suggestions, first and foremost- Sleep! If you can't sleep, lay in bed and think about all the things you have going on in the next month that you need to plan! Okay- so really I didn't wake-up thinking about all that stuff, but I woke up because my hand was hurting me- combination of computer work and using a spray paint can TORE ME UP!!! (The hand that is, not the high from the fumes...) In the process of laying restlessly in bed I couldn't help think about...

1. My upcoming conference in March and how our Communications Department has tomorrow as a deadline to get me something I need to pass along to the Center for Business Intelligence for the brochure they produce for the conference, and what to do if the Communications Dept doesn't show-up for work because of the snow... hmmm...

2. Cheyenne is too damn small and I need a really great place to hold the WSC event for March and April. In my sleeplessness I have April figured out, but not March and that is just around the corner- especially when I will be gone for a week and a half to the conference mentioned in thought #1, just before the WSC event.

3. Work, work, work... and how can I get more help? I decided I will open up my home to host volunteers that I have to keep turning down because we don't have the space at the hospital. Here's a kicker- why don't I give up my office space, and rent out my house for my program to be hosted out of. We will move my assistant over here, and set-up a few more computers so I can start saying YES to the interns and volunteers that keep wanting to assit me. Sound good?! Yeah, I thought so to.

Events from 3am-present
3-3:45- lay in bed and think and feel pain
3:45- decide some milk might help me fall asleep
4-4:30- repeat 3-3:45 activities
4:30- get up and take some Flexeril
4:30-5- again, repeak 3-3:45 and 4-4:30 events
5- up for the day, I can tell I am going to be in a GREAT way!

So it's still snowing, I enjoyed watching that for a while.

Now, I am enjoying passing the time by blabber blogging and watching one of the worst Lifetime movies I think they ever made. (No guys- they aren't ALL bad!)

In parting, a note to all my comrades~ peace out and I hope you are all getting the beauty rest you so deserve before starting another crazy day in this process we call life. Have a peaceful little dream for me, okay?!

Cheyenne Wind

Ok, what I want you to remember is that this is an AVERAGE. There are some days where there is no wind at all. I travel on I25 quite often and on the new digital signs above the highway 6/7 times in the past times I have driven it, have said anywhere from warnings of 45-75 MPH. What this graph says is that the wind is worse this year then in the last several years.

Happy Baptism Nolan!

Nolan and Samantha
Tanner on this BEAUTIFUL day outside- it broke 60!
Evan with his beloved Dragon!

Today we celebrated the baptism of Nolan Richard. We felt very thankful to be invited to Brian and Samantha's son's celebration. They had a nice baptism at the church, then a gathering at their home to celebrate. We were treated to fried chicken and other yummy treats. (My favorite were Brian's grandmother's homemade chocolate chip cookies. Yum!!) Again- congrats Nolan, Samantha and Brian!

From Light to Dark

Ok! I said there would be some before and after photo's of my hair. I figured in the air of love I would enclude my hubby. :)

This is Sam and I in June when we went to see Jeff in San Diego for his Navy re-enlistment.

Now, this is from last weekend in Chicago. (Boy do we both look pasty white!!)

Chicago

Chicago was a blast! We went to the Rainforest Cafe and the kids loved it! I had a great time walking around with Michelle. It was so funny when we were all trying to get that carrier on me...how many of us did it take?! 5 because we will include Michelle!! We celebrated Kims birthday all weekend! Everytime we went out we said it was her birthday- she was a great sport about it- thanks Kimmy, and Happy Birthday!

Chicago

More fun! We went to Navy Pier and the Museum of Science and Industry.

Chicago

We had a lot of fun in Chicago with Sam's parents, his sister Kim and brother-in-law Greg and the kids- Tom, Ryan and Michelle and our neice Holly. We went on the huge ferris wheel at Navy Pier and froze our tushes off. We also ate dinner at Ed Debevic's- that was fun too! They sure are crazy at that place- a little too crazy for Tom and Ryan, but they'll give it right back some day!

Steve Marquez

As some of you may now know, our friend Steve Marquez was killed in a car accident on Friday night. Sam and Steve played softball together and he was my laughing buddy. He always made sure I was a happy camper at all their games and tournaments. Steve would ALWAYS go out of his way to make sure I was taken care of. May God Bless you and hold you in his hands, Steve. We will all miss you so much.

BHHAAAAAAHH!!!

Call me a sheep...(Thanks for letting me steal off your blogs Keelee, Tammi and everyone else I have taken photo's from!)

The Myers-Briggs (MBTI)Personality test.
(This is me...) ENFJ
Popular and sensitive, with outstanding people skills. Externally focused, with real concern for how others think and feel. Usually dislike being alone. They see everything from the human angle, and dislike impersonal analysis. Very effective at managing people issues, and leading group discussions. Interested in serving others, and probably place the needs of others over their own needs.

Click here to take the test yourself.

Some things I thought were too ironic (I took excerpts since the descriptions are so vast)...

ENFJ's are so externally focused that it's especially important for them to spend time alone. This can be difficult for some ENFJs, because they have the tendency to be hard on themselves and turn to dark thoughts when alone. Consequently, ENFJs might avoid being alone, and fill their lives with activities involving other people. ENFJs tend to define their life's direction and priorities according to other people's needs, and may not be aware of their own needs. It's natural to their personality type that they will tend to place other people's needs above their own, but they need to stay aware of their own needs so that they don't sacrifice themselves in their drive to help others.

ENFJ's tend to be more reserved about exposing themselves than other extraverted types. Although they may have strongly-felt beliefs, they're likely to refrain from expressing them if doing so would interfere with bringing out the best in others. Because their strongest interest lies in being a catalyst of change in other people, they're likely to interact with others on their own level, in a chameleon-like manner, rather than as individuals.
Which is not to say that the ENFJ does not have opinions. ENFJs have definite values and opinions which they're able to express clearly and succinctly. These beliefs will be expressed as long as they're not too personal. ENFJ is in many ways expressive and open, but is more focused on being responsive and supportive of others. When faced with a conflict between a strongly-held value and serving another person's need, they are highly likely to value the other person's needs.

The ENFJ may feel quite lonely even when surrounded by people. This feeling of aloneness may be exacerbated by the tendency to not reveal their true selves.

Then read about everyone!! (Now click on THIS line!)

Do it! Do it! Tell me what you are!!!!

Girls Nite Babe's

Girls Nite is Monday Nite and we watch the Bachelor--so entertaining!!! Sometimes we have the small tykes, sometimes they are nestled in bed. Those kids are so darn cute!
