This is a story of our family life in the House of Daane. Mommy, Daddy, Girl, Boy and two neurotic puppies. A typical American family growing, changing and evolving as we make our way across the country one step at a time.

Cal-i-for-ni-a
Adios Cheyenne, hello Sacramento! It is sad- yes...I did spend time in the car crying-yes. BUT I know I need to move on and welcome my new life in Cali. I am excited about it. I am NOT excited about leaving my dear dear friends. That is the honest to goodness truth. I will have more sappy (but very truthful) things to say about everything I am feeling, but at this moment the experience is all too new and I am barely grasping what is going on. The last month has been a whirlwind- even less sleep then the first month of my babygirl's life! Our home is on the market- so if anyone want's to buy a house e-mail me!

Fort Collins
Last weekend we went to Fort Collins and hung out with Shawn and Lindsey in Old Town, then had a great dinner at my favorite restaurant, The Canyon Chop House. It was a fantastic day! The weather couldn't have been more beautiful and it was just one of those perfect relaxing afternoons that you don't get all that often! (Well- WE don't anyways!)

What I'm NOT Doing Tomorrow...

Well, Let me back up a second and tell you what we DID do on Friday. This photograph was taken by our friend Mark right outside Sam's office. Sam received an award and medal on Friday morning and Reagan and I went to see it presented. It was a wonderful "little" ceremony and we were so proud to be there to see Sam get it! (I say "little" because he tried to make it low key with just his squadron, and one of the higher ranking officials came in, as well as another squadron!!!) Congrat's babe- you have come a long way while at FE Warren and you deserve wonderful things to come!
I had a big day on Friday as well- which leads me to explain what I am NOT doing tomorrow...
I had my last day of work at the hospital on Friday! Wow! That was even hard to write! It was an extremely emotional day for me, and I am still not digesting it all. Life on our end is happening so quickly that I don't have time to let it all sink in. (I think that might be a good thing at this point.)
So, I know the question everyone is dying to know is what will I do with all my free time? HA! HA! HA! Free time?! Ok, so we are moving in a week- yes, LORD help us! And once we get to California I will continue to grow my business. Things have been going exceptionally well in that department out here, but unfortunately since we are moving I have had to "close shop". So I have to get to our new destination and "open shop" once again! This will require learning all the new laws and regulations of a new state, gaining a new client base and developing our new residential studio gallery. The last on the "to-do" also requires buying a new home...which also requires the current purchased home to SELL! So, you can see that UNFORTUNATELY my friends, I will NOT be hanging out on the couch watching my soaps and eating bon bons.........too much! Ha!
I will post some info about my past life at the hospital in the near future. I am so proud of everything that has been accomplished in Cheyenne with the program I ran and it wouldn't have been possible if everyone hadn't worked together the way they did. What a wonderful ride it has been!

Stranger things have happened!
You know, it's funny, because I tend to meet friends at the time when it is so appropriate for them to be in my life... Let's take, for example, my dear friend Liz in Annapolis, MD. Liz and I met in Cheyenne about 4+ years ago and we just never talked! We knew who one another were, but for some reason, just stayed on our own planets---until SHE MOVED! Then we realized we were so much alike in so many ways and we were so sad that we hadn't gotten to know one another when we were closer!
Well, something similar has happened recently. I met a unique woman on my photography forum...the crazies...and we struck up conversation that has since turned into a great budding friendship! Wouldn't you know, Tana lives in Sacramento. AND wouldn't you know, she lives 5 MINUTES WALKING distance from my parents house! WOW! We were able to meet when we went out to Cali for my lil bro's wedding. It was awesome and I know we are going to be great friends! Cheers to friendship!
