Just a little update on Sam. Most everyone know's that he had PRK done this week. It has gone pretty well and today is the best day he has had yet. His eyes weren't ready to have the contacts/ bandages off of them on Friday as they should have been, but he had new ones put on and is able to take them off tomorrow on his own. He has another appointment on Monday and hopefully will get the a-okay to live "normal" again! Poor guy gets to deal with me driving him everywhere! :) Just a quick note- more pics and such to come!
Cheers!
Beth

25 Random Things
I don't know why I didn't think to publish this here- my cuz Bobbi added it to her blog and I thought that was a great idea. The idea of the 25 Random things is that you tag 25 of your friends to do this and learn more about them in the process. I already tagged a bunch of people so I won't tag anyone else- but do it...it's fun! :)
1. Love to eat peanut butter in my grilled cheese.
2. Don't like Popsicle sticks.
3. If I touch something weird feeling with one hand, I have to touch it with the other too.
4. Love stupid reality shows- the more juvenile the better!
5. Have stopped making excuses about why I love Facebook.
6. Check on my babies every night and kiss them before I go to bed.
7. Keep seeing the same number popping up everywhere and it's freaking me out!
8. I step over cracks, even though I know they won't break my Mom's back.
9. I don't spend much time on FB even thought it looks like I do. (I pop on and off withing seconds sometimes- that's why I'm not here when you IM me!)
10. Love, adore and am so thankful to be a photographer.
11. Really believe in "pay-it-forward".
12. Despises being late, but am too often.
13. I love Eucalyptus Spearmint lotion from Bath and Body Works- it's my favorite.
14. Have to FIGHT off the laughter when reprimanding my daughter.
15. Could eat chocolate and anything card related for every meal if it wouldn't kill me.
16. Hate to work out after falling off the wagon- but then LOVE it once I get back on.
17. Will have "social worker" blood flowing through my veins until the day I die but never want to practice again- and it's ok.
18. Have a very personal and beautiful, truly beautiful, relationship with God.
19. Wishes I could have a tiny fluffy dog that was really chill.
20. I love coffee morning, noon and night.
21. Could do without living in snow the rest of my life.
22. I feel blessed and thankful for everything- even the crap.
23. Stealing Jil'ls cause I totally dig it and wouldn't have thought of it on my own- Would love to wear cowboy boots and a sundress.
24. Feel guilt all the time for the "good intentions" I don't follow through on.
25. I appreciate and love my family and friends more then I could ever, ever, ever say.

Playing Together
I am so blessed to be able to stay home with my children. Although it's sometime a rough balance working at home, I would never, never, never trade it for the world. Trevor is getting to be so much fun and he just adore's his big sister. They are now just starting to interact and play together. It is AWESOME! Enjoy.

Today at the Park
It is SO WARM today! Staci and I took a walk to the park and met our friend Blair. (Yes, of course with our kiddo's!) Here is Reagan, Trevor and Rylan sitting together holding hands. It was so cute! I dressed Trev in one of his little sleep outfits because I was thinking it was going to be a little cold to be at the park in January. Boy was I wrong!

Exciting Times!
Thursday Night. A typical evening in the Daane home, with just a touch of added excitement.
We were so happy Daddy wasa home for dinner. Daddy and Trevor chillin in the kitchen after Trev was done eating and before he got his jammies on.

A blurry image, but I thought Trevor was cute anyways- so since this was just going on the blog and not made into an 11x16 to hang above my mantle, who cares!
We have Reagan help us cook and she enjoys it. Probably MUCH more then Mommy does. (Unless it involves chocoalte- then Mommy enjoys it VERY much!)
This is Trevor's dinasaur bank that he got from the Hundt's for his birth. Reagan doesn't have a bank like this and it kills her! She is learning that she doesn't have to have everything that her brother has and that they can share. She was hugging on the dino and very much enjoying him before bed.
This is an antique bicycle that we have as decoration. It started out in Reagan's room in Cheyenne- Lindsey and I went antiquing before Reagan was born so that we could decorate the room. The bicycle now sits on a ledge in the breezeway upstairs. It's about 12-14 inches tall and although the wheels don't move and it IS NOT for riding- Reagan decided she needed to ride it. Wearing only a shirt and diaper. Again- bad pic- most of these are, but who cares anyways?! ;)
This is what Treavor was doing while Reagan was riding the bike and hugging all over the dino. So sleepy! Trevor goes to bed around 6:30 if I can keep him up that late. Most nights he WANTS to go to bed around 5:30, but I have to fight to keep him awake longer.
Reagan decorated the refrigerator.
I redecorated the refrigerator.
I did say there was a little excitement. Here it is...
We found a HUGE cobweb up high, high, high on the ceiling. I don't know how we missed it, but here it was. (You can see the black spots in the corner of the ceiling.) Well, I had just gotten done hand mopping the hardwood (why handmopping- cause I like to!) and I decided that I would throw the rag into the cobweb to see if I could get it down. Sam walked in right then and IS NOT keen on me doing things like this. Well, he got a little more in tune with my line of thinking when I pulled a bunch of the cobweb down and he started in. He didn't want to keep doing it, but I was a good amount of encouragement.
As Sam said: "Ok- this is the last one- I will get it all out tomorrow by hand with the extention ladder" the rag came down a little far to the right and Sam bumped into the plant stand. We had already moved the plant, but OOPS! Over goes the stand and broke the granite top into 4 pieces. This image doesn't show that, and it's supposed to come off the top- but the circle itself is now broken. We might be able to ghetto glue it back together for now. (A plant will cover it up, right?!)
So this was our excitement. This is what you do for fun when you are married and have sleeping kids- you throw rags into the air and break things. Thanks for the fun honey. I hope to do it again soon...without breaking anything the next time.

My kids.......at work with Mommy time!
We've started a new thing here at the Daane house. Once or twice a week we "go to work with Mommy". The kids and I head into my office and I work. Trevor plays in his little saucer thing and Reagan gets to bring "AB" (her blanket) and watch a movie. Then she colors and has snack at her table. We are still perfecting the routine, but I think it is going to go well! Say a little prayer- we NEED it to work! ;)
Reagan was holding her banana while I was feeding Trevor. He hates his food, I don't blame him. It's just bland old rice. He must have been able to SMELL the yummy banana because he sure wanted it! (Click on the picture- it's kind of small here.)

New Years Eve
We had a wonderful time with our friends Rob and Staci (who hosted...thank you very much!), Jessica and Will, Krista and Ronnie and Sarah and Dale. We are so blessed that we have them. It's really pretty amazing how we all met- I'll save that for another time. Needless to say, we are making some wonderful friendships on all levels; from the kids on up! We celebrated an "East Coast New Years" and I just loved that! The kids even stayed up until "midnight" and then we all headed home and off to bed it was. Here was our night...

Me, Jessica (Drew and Megan), Staci (Caden) These girls are my regular walking buddies and keep me in line. I am so blessed to have them in my life! (We all live on the same block, too! ....sort of....pretty much the same block....)
Sarah and Dale

Jessica and Staci playing Wii boxing. I love Rylan's face- he is so excited about his Mom playing Wii!

Jessica and Will
I love this- the guys playing boxing- look at Reagan in the front with her hands up ready to punch, then Megan in the back observing what's happening. Too funny! Then there's Sam and Trevor off to the side, just partaking in the "guy time".

Ringing in the New Year.
Happy 2009 Friends!
Three of my favorite people on New Years Eve- we celebrated it “East Coast Style” with some wonderful friends who all have little ones close to our babies ages. (It was perfect- I was in bed earlier then any normal night!)

I never make New Years Resolutions, but never say never! I have decided that this year not only am I making what one could call “resolutions” or “goals” but I am going to publicly announce them! Oh yes- good bad and ugly they are going up for the world to see. I figure this way I can hold myself accountable a bit better and maybe follow through for fear of s-h-a-m-e!!! (Yes, shame, not because I want to!) Ha Ha! So if you see me veering off track, or have any helpful tips, hints or comments LET ME KNOW! Some of these may seem obscure, but I will delve into them more as the year progresses. The list, in no particular order.
1. Blog More- I want to blog at LEAST 3 times per week. (I might post the same thing on my personal and professional blog- it's hard to keep both up to date regularly especially when some of the the info is the same. This IS NOT cheating for my 3 posts per week, folks!) ;)
2. Soul Search for Personal Projects and begin one before March.
3. Spend more time watching movies.
4. Travel to the Northeast, East Coast and MidWest.
5. Exercise regularly.
6. Eat more fruits and veggies.
7. Learn to cook.
8. Find a Bible Study group.
9. Eliminate some of my clothes and shoes.
10. Organize office to perfection by February 15th.
11. Read for recreation.
12. Stay up to date on my Babies memory books.
13. Finish my scrapbook from when Sam and I lived in Europe. (In 1999!!!)
14. Find an artist that inspires me monthly.
15. Thank people more.
16. Stay on top of the Photo of the Week.
17. Leave my comfort zone in my trade.
18. Have more dates with my love.
19. Get more massages.
20. Wake up earlier because I want to.
21. Write more handwritten letters.
22. Belly laugh even MORE!
23. Complain less.
24. Go on a Women in Faith retreat.
25. Knit something.
26. Run a 1/2 marathon by 31 December 2009.
27. Wear more sunscreen…and be proud of it!
28. Bake more pies.
29. Do more volunteer work.
30. Use filler words, such as “and, ummm……” less.
31. Journal more.
Ok, I will be 31 this year, so I think having 31 goals is appropriate, right?! Sounds great to me. I’ll start here, revisit often and keep everyone posted! Don’t forget that you are allowed to keep me in line if I slip up or if I’m not posting about progress as often as I should.
Do you have any resolutions or goals? Leave me a comment and tell me what yours are and we can fight through this together! Rock on, my friends. Here’s to 2009!
