This is a story of our family life in the House of Daane. Mommy, Daddy, Girl, Boy and two neurotic puppies. A typical American family growing, changing and evolving as we make our way across the country one step at a time.

Home Health Care
Well, my life has quickly transformed from things of lighthearted nature to taking care of my Sam. We have home health nurses come into the house twice daily to run Sam's IV Antibiotic. They are trying to teach me but I don't want to learn- just because I am so afraid I will do something wrong!!! You can see in the photo that there is a yellow bag in the upper right corner- that is Sam's Antibiotics. They go into a pic line in his left arm that leads inside a vein that goes to the top chamber of his heart. His right hand is the one that had the surgery. It is hard work to be Sam's personal nurse. The thing I have the hardest time doing is trying to get him to let ME do things for him! I left him alone for just a few minutes yesterday and the next thing I knew he was outside trying to shovel the remaining snow on the walk-way with his one good hand! This is our second day home and he is starting to realize that he DOES get tired easily and he just can't do what he normally does. He has been laying down all day and sleeping on and off, sill in lots of pain, but that will disipate with time...lots of time and relazation!

Sam, we hope you feel better soon. You guys take care and RELAX...BOTH OF YOU!!! See you Sunday!
Sam, Kenny and I are thinking about you. Brian and Sam M. are right, you need to relax and concentrate on getting better. No more shoveling :)
