I am Obsessed...But It's so Fun!!!

Okay, so I started taking these quizes...I got obsessed and had TONS more that I deleted off of here. I just had way too many! I really wonder about some of them. Some of the things seem like me and others seem so off! It makes me wonder what others view me as...

You're an elegant drunk, who only likes the best bars and the most expensive drinks.

How did I miss it?!!! Tag You're It!

Tag You're It!

Okay I was tagged by Tammi and knew I needed to pass it along.

"Here are the rules; the first player of this game starts with the topic. Five weird habits of yourself and people who get tagged need to write an entry about their five weird habits as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next five people to be tagged and link to their web journals. Don’t forget to leave a comment in their blog or journal that says “You are tagged” (assuming they take comments) and tell them to read yours. So here we go.......

I am SO Weird---this is E-A-S-Y!!! Friends- I know you are still true if you stick around after you read this! (God knows my husband did bless his heart!) Hee Hee!

1) I really do step over cracks in fear of something--not that I will break my mother's back, but something unknown! And if you have ever paid attention to the sidewalk it is usually divided into many squares... I have a strange pattern that I have to follow when stepping over the cracks- each foot needs to be even over each line and each foot has to have the same # of times it goes over a crack.

2) If I touch something with a texture, I have to touch it with both hands. I am extremely discreet about this- in fact, my Mother didn't even realize it until I told her at age 25.

3) I can't eat anything that has a stick on it- that means no popsicles, no suckers/ lollipops, etc... I can't even eat those little ice cream cups that have a stick on it we got as treats in elementary school. I can't touch that wood- I have texture issues, can you tell? Also, even if someone takes the stick off, I can taste the wood on the food item. I eat it anyways sometimes since I like Butterfinger Ice Cream Pops and some other treats- but only rarely.

4) When making a purchase of gourmet coffee, I have to line up the seam of the cup to the seam of the lid. If it has a "hot sleeve" they have diagonal lines, thus I will put an even amount of the diagonal on each side of the cup/ lid seam.

Isn't this enough? I think someone will end up committing me now?!!? Ok- last one...

5) When I am able to, I check everyone's blogs multiple times a day. (I think that's minorly weird, but I need something minor to counteract all the seriousely crazy stuff!!!)

Let's see how weird my friends really are (help me out, okay!!!!!!!)

Samantha, You might have to think hard...

Whitney, I know you have to have something!

Portroid Rick, once known in my blogging world as "Porty".

Stranger Jess, found an interesting quiz on her site and though she might like this one.

Min Pin Momma, Keelee's-friend's-sister whom I frequent the site of and hoped would contribute since I love to read her posts!

Okay everyone- here is goes! Shoot away!

Poll

Ok, so I am gonna do what I wanna do, but I just thought I would ask a poll about what dog to get. I didn't want to put photo's of puppies because puppies are way too cute for their own good, so I put photo's of the adults probably in the colors we are thinking about.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel--- 15-18 pounds. Good with Kids and other dogs.
French Bulldog--- Under 28 pounds. Good with Kids and other animals. (Interesting about this one...we have found 4- yes FOUR- people who have Frenchies AND Great Danes. Weird, I thought.)

Merry Christmas

Beth, Julie, Tanner, Samantha, Tammi, Cindy and Kim
Sam and Beth Christmas Day
Sam and Beth Christmas Eve

Since Sam and I's plans changed, we were immediately welcomed to our friends the Cardwell's for Christmas Eve and the Hlivko's for Christmas. We had a really nice time at both.

Christmas Eve started with going to church and meeting Bryan and Julie there. Rev. Trudy did a very nice Christmas service and it was good to be there. We had a great time at Bryan and Julie's afterwards, along with Sam and Brian. We played a 90's Trivia game that STUNK! I hate those trivia games. I was REALLY suprised about all the questions that I did know. (Not tons, but way more then I thought...) We even ended up winning! Samuel and I were on a team together--he never want's to me on my team, but it was a good night!

Christmas Day Sam and I spent the day doing pretty much nothing. It was so quiet and pretty perfect if we couldn't be with family!!! We opened a couple gifts, then tried to go to McDonald's for Sam to get his #1 for breakfast, but they weren't open. Then we sat around the house until it was time to go to Matt and Kim's. There we ate lot's of good food and enjoyed the company of wonderful friends.

I do have to say, if I can't be with family at Christmas, I had the next best thing right here in Chey-town with my Sammy-dear and all our wonderful friends!

Home Health Care

Well, my life has quickly transformed from things of lighthearted nature to taking care of my Sam. We have home health nurses come into the house twice daily to run Sam's IV Antibiotic. They are trying to teach me but I don't want to learn- just because I am so afraid I will do something wrong!!! You can see in the photo that there is a yellow bag in the upper right corner- that is Sam's Antibiotics. They go into a pic line in his left arm that leads inside a vein that goes to the top chamber of his heart. His right hand is the one that had the surgery. It is hard work to be Sam's personal nurse. The thing I have the hardest time doing is trying to get him to let ME do things for him! I left him alone for just a few minutes yesterday and the next thing I knew he was outside trying to shovel the remaining snow on the walk-way with his one good hand! This is our second day home and he is starting to realize that he DOES get tired easily and he just can't do what he normally does. He has been laying down all day and sleeping on and off, sill in lots of pain, but that will disipate with time...lots of time and relazation!

Happy Belated Birthday Keelee!!!

Wonderfully Crazy Keelee...I am so sorry I missed wishing you a Happy Birthday, I had to give you extra photo shots since I am late. Hope it was wonderful!

Sammy Updates

We are still at the hospital. Probably until Tuesday. They can't get his pain under control and can't send him home until they do. They want him at a "3" but he is always at a "6" at the lowest, but usually an "8" and last night through the night he was "10". They keep changing the meds they give him, but nothing is working right now.

That is the worst of the news, which is pretty good all things considered! The infection is effectively being treated by soem hefty IV Antibiotics that he'll be on for 2-3 weeks, but that will fix him right up.

We thank everyone who has prayed for him, sends their wishes, offered to assist in any way and those who have visited. Thank-you so much.

love,
Beth and Sam

My Love...

Just wanted to FYI family and friends very quickly that Sam and I are in the hospital. He developed a really bad bacterial infection in his body that localized in his hand surgery that he had about a month and a half ago. For the record- when they went in again and took out all the infection they found that the surgery went PERFECT! As Doc Wyatt said- "It is serendipity that this happened." Dr. Wyatt is wonderful and Sam couldn't have been in better hands. We could leave tomorrow or we might be here until Tuesday. Visitors are okay- he is not contageous. Sam will be out of work for a couple weeks and needing to go to the hospital or have them come to our home two times a day to do IV Antibiotics for the next two weeks. He will be okay though. This is definately the time you would love to have family around---not because you need them, but because you want them. We love you all, thanks in advance for your thoughts and prayers that I know will be coming. Don't know if we will be going to WI for Christmas anymore, Doc said it would be safest to stay here. All I care about right now if that my baby gets better. We will do whatever it takes to make that happen. Hugs and Kisses, Beth and Sam. (PS- If your Christmas gifts and cards are late- you know why!)

Very Expensive Mouth

So this is what I am going to have done. The whole process will take about 1 1/2 years. Yeah- are you kidding me??? This junk for that long?

I think this photo is so funny, because I already don't have most of these teeth and now I will have even less! Now I only have 22 teeth- we can take out all the Wisdom teeth -which most people don't have (-4), all the 1st Bicuspids (-4), all the 2nd molars (-4). That puts me at -12 teeth. Somehow the math doesn't add up, but I just counted all my nasty little teeth and that is what I have...22...

What brings this conversation on you might want to know...well, as some of you know I have been having some unique "little" problem-o's with my teeth. Yesterday I got the better then expected news (that is dripping with sarcasm) that to fix everything- but leaving one tooth in the back of my head out- it will cost a meer $10,000 that insurance doesn't cover. Merry Christmas.

Last Week's Activities

Well, like all my bloggin' friends I had a crazy busy week. FUN! Yet very busy...

Monday- Clinic Night
Tuesday- WSC Board Meeting
Wednesday- Progressive Dinner with Keelee and Julie. It was quite fun! Julie planned a themed Progressive dinner where we had food from our part of the country. Keelee had appetizers- all great foods and wine from California. Then Julie cooked a nice Southern meal for us. To wrap it all together Lindsey and i hosted dessert at my house and had Midwestern desserts. It was quite a nice evening!
Thursday- Was able to spend some time with the beetter half- such a nice treat!
Friday- Hosted Bunko at my house.
Saturday- Book Club at Cindy's house. We finished reading Kite Runner- I didn't finish and I felt like a bad school girl who didn't do her book report. Luckily my friends are forgiving! Then off to buy the car for Sammy-dear. Sat night- "Beth's 2nd Annual Cookie Exchange". Went well. Lots of treats and lots of leftovers that we donated to the airmen for treats for a cookie drive they were having. Worked out really well!
Sunday- Worked and Had the Christmas Exchange with the gal's. I received a beautiful wall fixture that is wraught iron and holds votives from Julie- she had my name and did perfect. I can't wait to put it up!

That brings us to today. Work Work Work! Trying to catch up before the holidays. Spent some time with Bryan, Julie and Hudson then off to home to do more---oh yes---work! but don't worry- I always take time to play!

**Ok So I am having some problems getting the photo's up...will attempt this tomorrow- I have already tried three times tonight and this lady needs to get to bed!!! (It says my cookies are messed up- what the heck does that mean?!?!)**

Merry Christmas Sam

This year Sam got his Christmas present early...I went to the Fort Collins Ford dealer and got him his new little baby he has wanted for... well, years now! A Ford Explorer in the color Dark Stone- but I just say brown, although you can't tell from the photo. It will be a wonderful family car for the three of us---Beth Sam and Mykah---then it will also be a great car for kids one day and a GREAT car for hauling all Sam's STUFF!!! Sam went touring around town running bunches of errands I had for him--he was THRILLED to run errands for me and even came home with some beautiful roses as a thank-you to me. He took Mykah with him and she HATED the new car. Oh-well! She better get used to it, we have a l-o-n-g trip up ahead!

Cigars in Iraq?

We sure miss our friends who are away from us. This is Steve on the Left and Shawn on the right. They are in Bagdad. They have been gone for just over a week. I love this photo- Shawn with a cigar- how typical!!! ;) (Shawn- if you look at this...Sam is taking good care of your humidor!!)

Icy Cold!

So, Sam and I are getting our paybacks after laughing at all our Wisconsinites about how cold it is out there... We are currently dealing with temps of -20 (my thermometer at home said -10) with a windchill of -40. Brrr! Go ahead all you warm weathered peeps- laugh it up!!! The good news...they said it should be in the 40's by the end of the week!

Tea In the Trees

This past weekend "the girls" went to the Tea in the Tree's at the Train Depot. It was a nice time- we had little treats- tea sandwiches, cakes, tea, hot chocolate and coffee. It was a nice relaxing time where we were able to sit back and just chat about life. (L-R: Cindy, Lindsey, Me, Julie, Kari and Tammi)

This is a TUMBLEWEED Christmas tree! We thought is was so funny and completely appropriate for Cheyenne! The neat thing about the Tea in the Tree's is that the trees at the Depot are decorated- some very elaborate, then they are auctioned off for charities in the community. Some of the trees go for hundreds of dollars- I wonder what the Tumbleweed will go for???

Dierks Bentley

I am feeling sorry for myself- I am alowed to do that on my blog because it's my blog! I REALLY wanted to go to the Dierks Bentley concert this weekend with Whitney, Keelee and Becca. I can't go because of adult responsibilities. By that I mean cash flow. (Recent past surprises and near future biggies.) If I were in college I wouldn't give two thoughts to "charging it" to have a good time with my friends. I don't like growing up... I keep hearing that phrase lately (and from my husband and brother none-the-less!!)..."Beth, it's just part of growing-up!" I don't want to hear that anymore, I don't want to grow-up. (Mom, Dad- do I really have to? )
