The World Is So Much Larger Then I...

Which is why I have my blog to compain about the mundane little things in my life that bother me!

My Ulnar Nerve is really hurting me. Last night I started getting shooting pains going up my arm, and today I spent no more then a minute on the mouse and it started in again.

Now you might wonder, how would I know about my "Ulnar Nerve" and where the heck IS it? Fantastic question. It is in your hand/arm. I, being the wonderfully strange person I am, hold the mouse in a strange way and unlike most people who get Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, my doc diagnosed me with Ulnar Nerve Syndrome.

The outcome? (by Doc Nameless...) 1. Get an ergonomic mouse (which I did), 2. take Naproxen (which I don't) and 3. wear a splint (which I do when I need to). *Like some fellow friends, Naproxen makes me tired and feel lightheaded, so I only take it at night once in a while. Who wants to be on meds all their life, not me!*

So, after the shooting pains started, I decided I needed a screen that goes over my computer so I can just tap on it and not use the mouse at all! I called my IT dept with the hopes that they would know what type of screen I was talking about, and they said to call the Health Nurse. Health Nurse laughed, because she get's that question EVERY DAY! (Please note the sarcasm.) Now I have an apointment for an "ergonomic evaluation".

That makes a heck of a lot more sense to me then what Doc Nameless told me. Doc nameless didn't even look at my arm or do any type of ergonomic evals. Just prescribed the drugs, gave me a splint and sent me on my way.

Medicine at it's best.

If Naproxen makes you tired, just drink some redbull and vodka, it works for me. Eventually all the pain will go away. Trust me, I'm a doctor, I know about these things.
