Ok all you Mom's out there! I need your help! Sam and I decided on a chair for Clety's room- it is going to be in a color called "Latte" and it has an oval geometric design in a microsuade. Here is the dilema...we don't know if we should get a smaller recliner or a swivel glider/ rocker. The chair you see in brown is the recliner and it is actually the exact color and pattern that we would get and the pink one is the glider/ rocker. (But remember- it would be in the same color of brown.) Here are our thoughts and why we would like some help.
1. Cost: same
2. Delivery: same
3. Size- recliner is a little bigger (not good)
4. Ottoman- we like the idea of having a seperate one
5. We like the idea of the chair being comfy enough so that we can fall asleep in it.
5. Recliner is appealing becuause you can push it back and "lay" in it. (Although this is also part of the size problem.)
5. We like the design of the glider/ rocker but if we decide to go with the recliner- it is a smaller size recliner and we like that design too.
So- anyone who has had babies- what did you like or see as a good trait? We will be ordering on Monday night- it takes 4-5 weeks to come in- that means we might not even have it in time for dear Clety!
Help!

I love them both and let me just say that's exactly what I wanted! So pretty & comfty. My personal preference would be the glider/rocker, b/c it is so soothing to baby & momma (or daddy) when rocking a fussy/tired/pick a mood baby. Although I sometimes I found myself dozing while feeding in the middle of the night it was never a full force sleep and I personally would have worried that if I did recline and sleep, I might really go to sleep. I guess the next question is are you planning on co-sleeping?
Also, remember that even if you do sleep in the nursery on the chair the first couple months, it's just that...a couple months. I still rock Nolan every single night while I feed him his night time bottle and often during the day when we read stories or he just needs extra snuggles. Like I said, it soothes me, too.
Probably way longer than you wanted, but my vote is the glider! :)
Same here love, see my email, I explain more.
I haven't actually had a baby, but kids are my life, and having a place to sit in and rock your baby is good. Some babies though, like to be moved from side to side, rather than back and forth, so if the swivel chair (the pink one that will be brown) reclines too, I'd say get that one. Even if it doesn't recline, you'll be able to sleep in a comfy chair, regardless. Have you sat in both chairs? The pink one looks shorter on the back, and might not be easy to fall asleep in... if it is short (so you're not able to rest your head on the back), that might not be the best idea... you'll like being able to rest your head during a mid-night crying spell... Just my experience of nannying!
I vote glider/rocker with ottoman...
I vote glider/rocker with ottoman as well. That's what we have in Avery's room...also a size issue for us. I absolutely love it and it is very soothing. We still read Avery stories in that almost every night. :) Good Luck!!
